Criteria for Volunteer Coaches

Only one volunteer coach will be allowed per sport, unless the administration determines the need for further consideration due to an extremely high number of participants and/or safety issues.

Coaching expectations shall be established by the administration and head coach, and each volunteer coach will be evaluated annually.   

Junior High Criteria

  • Must be 19 years of age or older

  • Must be a high school graduate

  • Must have a fingerprint based background check

  • Must complete DCFS Mandated Reporter Training

  • Must meet IESA Coaching Guidelines

    • Posses valid Illinois Professional Educators License   or

    • Complete IESA approved coaches education program

        (All expenses to be paid by volunteer)

  • Requests for volunteers must be submitted, in writing, to the AD and administration, by the head coach. 

  • Final approval by Board of Education is required

High School Criteria

  • Must be 19 years of age or older; preference will be given to those over 21 years of age

  • Must be a high school graduate

  • Must have a fingerprint based background check
